For Immediate Release:
They often say to compete at your hometown fair is a curse, and bad luck often follows, but on Saturday Night in Altamont, Illinois, Jared and Bethany Nelson set out to prove that theory wasn’t always true. The Nelson’s who entered the Effingham County Fair on an event win streak, after Jared captured the Elkhart County Fair 7/27 (Goshen, Indiana) on Thursday, and Monroe County Fair 7/29 (Waterloo, Illinois)on Saturday, while his wife Bethany claimed top honors in Evansville, Indiana on Friday evening at the Vanderburgh County Fair on 7/28.
So with three consecutive wins to their credit and the trucks sitting in second and third in the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Tour points, the Nelson’s lined up with late hooks in the Saturday Night kickoff to the Effingham County Fair. With the sixteenth hook in the class, Jared powered his Boyd and Sons Machinery sponsored Midnight Revenger Chevy to the lead by twelve feet over the current leader, his sister-in-law, Misty Nelson. With Jared having a tune up and setup dialed into the track, wife Bethany confidently powered her Warrior Tracks Sweet Revenger Ford Ranger down the center of the track to a second place distance. After watching the last few trucks attempt to wreck the 1-2 sweep, Bethany and Jared were excited to celebrate such a wonderful feat at their hometown and a second consecutive win at the Altamont event for Jared. Behind Jared and Bethany, fellow Midnight Motorsports teammates Jeremy and Misty Nelson locked up a sweep of the top 4 spots for the family.
Leaving their hometown, the Nelson’s will head to Hillsboro, Wisconsin for two hooks as part of the Hillsboro Charity Pull. The annual event hosted by fellow PPL Competitor Don Slama has become a big favorite of the Midnight Motorsports team. After Altamont, Jared and Bethany are holding the first two spots in the Pro Pulling League Champions Tour Standings.
